GO + Activity (VERB + -ING) = GO SWIMMING / GO FISHING / GO RUNNING / GO SHOPPING ...
PLAY = we don't use THE before sports: PLAY BASKET / PLAY CHESS / PLAY TENNIS
But we use THE before musical instruments: PLAY THE PIANO / PLAY THE GUITAR
